AI Security Engineer I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.

📋 Description

• Develop and uphold security measures for AI, ML, and Generative AI solutions.

• Assist in the security evaluations of AI-driven applications, models, and services.

• Engage in AI threat modeling to identify security controls and mitigation strategies.

• Keep abreast of emerging AI security threats, vulnerabilities, attack methodologies, and industry developments.

• Conduct testing and validation of model protection, data security, and access management controls.

• Work collaboratively with security, data science, engineering, and compliance teams.

• Aid in AI governance, model inventory management, risk assessments, and adherence to policies.

• Assess and implement security technologies for AI systems, data pipelines, and cloud-native AI environments.

• Contribute to AI-related security investigations and incident response efforts.

• Take part in disaster recovery and business continuity testing.

• Document findings, recommendations, and remediation initiatives.

• Support initiatives focused on responsible AI, diversity, equity, and inclusion.

• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

• 1–3 years of experience in cybersecurity, cloud security, application security, AI engineering, MLOps, or relevant technological fields.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.

• Foundational knowledge of AI/ML concepts, LLMs, Generative AI technologies, and associated security threats.

• Familiarity with prompt injection, model exploitation, data poisoning, model theft, adversarial attacks, and secure AI development practices.

• Basic understanding of Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud along with cloud security principles.

• Knowledge of EDR, SIEM, vulnerability management tools, IAM, and security monitoring solutions.

• Ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Capacity to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.

• Willingness to travel 15% annually.

• Full-time commitment, 5 days per week.
