AI Program Manager, Governance – 12-month Fixed Term

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Contribute to shaping the way a global humanitarian organization leverages artificial intelligence to enhance outcomes.

• Oversee and coordinate the IRC's key AI initiatives.

• Propel enterprise AI projects from initial concept through to successful delivery.

• Ensure that AI tools implemented across the organization undergo thorough and responsible evaluation.

• Manage cross-functional teams focused on integrating AI into the IRC's operations.

• Operate at the convergence of technology, program execution, and organizational transformation.

• Collaborate with senior leaders, technical specialists, and frontline personnel worldwide.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of project management experience in IT or technology-centric settings.

• Proven track record in managing complex, multi-stakeholder programs that involve significant technology elements.

• A bachelor's degree is mandatory.

• Prior involvement in AI projects — whether in project management, product roles, or operational capacities — is highly preferred.

• Experience within international NGOs or global humanitarian entities is desirable.

• PMP, CSM, or equivalent project/program management certification is preferred.

• Practical, hands-on experience with Agile methodologies, including Scrum, sprint planning, backlog management, and retrospectives, is essential.

• Proficient in project management tools such as Jira, Monday.com, or similar platforms.

• Understanding of AI concepts, use cases, and the compliance, security, data privacy, and ethical considerations necessary for responsible AI adoption.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to adjust messaging from technical teams to senior executive leadership.

• Proven ability to influence without direct authority.
