AI Product Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design, development, and implementation of AI-driven product features.

• Create conversational analytics, intelligent workflow automation, Data Agents, and AI-supported decision-making experiences.

• Collaborate with Product, Architecture, Analytics, Engineering, Operations, and Customer Success teams to convert customer and business challenges into deployable AI solutions.

• Establish AI product requirements, solution frameworks, success metrics, release-readiness criteria, and adoption metrics in accordance with GMT’s technology roadmap.

• Create reusable AI engineering frameworks for prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agentic workflows, model evaluation, monitoring, observability, and secure integrations.

• Implement quality assurance, governance, security, and ethical AI practices.

• Work alongside internal engineering teams and external partners to provide secure, explainable, and maintainable AI products.

• Enhance customer self-service and time-to-insight through natural language experiences and AI-driven analytics.

• Assess emerging AI technologies and propose viable adoption strategies.

• Establish product impact metrics, including adoption rates, usage statistics, trust levels, productivity gains, and value realization.

• Offer technical guidance and leadership to engineers focused on AI-enhanced products and platform capabilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of software engineering experience in designing and delivering enterprise applications.

• Proven experience in developing and deploying AI-powered applications in production settings.

• Practical knowledge of generative AI technologies, including Azure OpenAI and similar AI platforms.

• Strong understanding of enterprise software architecture, API-first design, cloud-native solutions, security, privacy, model evaluation, and ethical AI principles.

• Familiarity with Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), prompt engineering, embeddings, vector stores, and AI orchestration patterns.

• Development experience in Python and/or .NET.

• Capability to translate customer challenges into product specifications, technical solutions, engineering designs, and measurable business outcomes.

• Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, facilitation, and technical documentation abilities.

• Experience in transitioning AI concepts, pilots, or proofs of concept into production-ready products.

• Background in collaborating with product managers, architects, data engineers, analytics teams, business stakeholders, and vendor delivery partners.

• Experience with Semantic Kernel, LangGraph, LangChain, Copilot Studio, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI Copilot, or comparable AI and analytics platforms is preferred.

• Previous experience in building customer-facing AI products or AI-enabled software features is preferred.

• Knowledge in transportation, logistics, supply chain, analytics, or data products is preferred.
