This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Transform agricultural retail, agronomy, and grower customer requirements into products and solutions for engineering execution.
• Regularly engage with agricultural retail clients both in the field and office.
• Gain insights into how retail agronomists and sales personnel enhance value for growers and retailers throughout the season.
• Recognize gaps between insight and action, as well as untapped agronomic and economic potential.
• Utilize AI tools to draft, refine, and iterate on product specifications, requirements, and acceptance criteria.
• Create prototypes using actual customer and field data to validate theories and evaluate solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering teams during product development, ensure deliverables align with specifications, and fine-tune requirements.
• Prioritize product opportunities in the roadmap based on agronomic and economic significance.
• Co-create product specifications with engineering, integrating business, user, UX, and platform consistency requirements.
• Collaborate with Commercial Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, and Agronomy teams.
• Convey customer and grower requirements to engineering and leadership to aid in roadmap decision-making.
• Professional background in agriculture or ag tech: retail, agronomy, grower interactions, crop inputs, equipment, or other sectors of the industry.
• Proven hands-on experience directing AI tools (e.g., Claude Code or similar) to draft, refine, and iterate on product specifications, or to create mock-ups or interactive prototypes.
• Excellent written communication skills; capable of articulating requirements in a manner that allows for only one interpretation.
• Technical expertise to engage in credible discussions with engineers regarding trade-offs and feasibility.
• Ability to comprehend internal customer systems (e.g., agronomy, CRM, ERP, inventory, dispatch) and translate them into requirements to facilitate data integrations and workflows.
• Self-motivated and comfortable taking ownership of outcomes with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to travel frequently within the Midwest to work directly with clients.
• Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration abilities.
• Practical experience (professional or personal) in developing AI-driven code, tools, or agents is a plus.
• Familiarity with precision agriculture, remote sensing, or crop data platforms is advantageous.
• Experience with agricultural equipment APIs, data layers, and data integration is a plus.
