AI Incubator Program Lead, SME

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Establish and document the intake processes for the incubator, workflows for SME consultations, and mechanisms for tracking PoC.

• Create and maintain 5–10 Self-Service Playbooks for VA employees with varying levels of technical expertise.

• Develop and implement a Communication Plan to promote the incubator across the VA.

• Lead requirements-gathering sessions with VA stakeholders and ensure action items are followed up on.

• Manage intake requests and communicate status updates back to the requesters.

• Conduct and document SME consultations, aiming for over 20 per performance period with a satisfaction rating of greater than 4/5.

• Coordinate four AI Lab proof-of-concept initiatives with measurable results.

• Prepare User Satisfaction Reports for each SME consultation and oversee the VA review and approval process.

• Monitor satisfaction metrics and report on the effectiveness of the incubator.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in program or product management, preferably in federal IT or digital transformation.

• Proven experience in establishing or operationalizing a new program or service offering, rather than merely managing an existing one.

• Strong technical understanding of generative AI, sufficient to conduct credible SME consultations and create useful playbooks, without the necessity of building models.

• Demonstrated capability to produce government-approved deliverables (plans, reports, playbooks) with a strong emphasis on clear writing.

• Experience working within or alongside a federal agency, with an understanding of the operational cadence of the VA or a similar large bureaucracy.
