This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Lead the AI and data governance workstream for customer implementations.
• Determine customer needs for internal approval, coordinate inputs from Spotted Zebra, and ensure governance processes progress smoothly.
• Assist with pre-sales and post-sales inquiries from customers regarding AI governance, human oversight, automated decision-making, fairness, explainability, bias, data protection, privacy, and regulatory compliance.
• Develop, maintain, and customize customer-facing governance documentation, which includes AI governance packs, DPIA materials, risk assessments, model and product documentation, explanations of human oversight, bias-audit evidence, candidate notices, FAQs, and due diligence responses.
• Monitor legislation and regulatory requirements across various operating regions and maintain a jurisdiction-by-obligation matrix.
• Support governance related to data protection, privacy, and automated decision-making.
• Coordinate both external and internal assurance efforts, including independent bias audits.
• Maintain DPIAs, risk assessments, provider documentation, technical files, model cards, risk registers, and evidence for the maturity of the AI management system and ISO/IEC 42001 readiness.
• Convert governance requirements into product and process enhancements that involve consent capture, candidate notifications, human review, retention, contestability, audit trails, reporting, and customer configurations.
• Create templates, playbooks, standard responses, implementation checklists, and governance workflows.
• Serve as the primary in-house legal counsel by reviewing and negotiating customer and supplier agreements, providing advice on contractual risks and daily legal issues, and involving external specialist counsel as necessary.
• Enhance customer-facing governance materials, assist enterprise clients in obtaining AI and data governance approvals, shorten approval timelines, scale internal approval processes, and establish efficient contract review procedures.
• Qualified lawyer in the UK or another relevant jurisdiction.
• Comfortable engaging directly with enterprise customers and senior stakeholders.
• Capable of clearly and practically explaining legal, regulatory, and governance matters.
• Adept at collaborating with AI governance committees, legal teams, privacy teams, procurement, business leaders, and product/engineering teams.
• Experience in reviewing and negotiating commercial technology or SaaS agreements.
• Strong ability to write clear, high-quality documentation.
• Proficient in guiding customers through complex internal decision-making processes.
• Skilled in balancing governance rigor with commercial pragmatism.
• Experience in creating repeatable processes, templates, and playbooks.
• Interest in responsible AI, particularly in high-stakes hiring and talent workflows.
• Experience within a startup or scaling technology company.
• Valuable experience assisting enterprise customers with AI governance, legal compliance, or procurement approvals.
• Valuable experience in legal, compliance, privacy, or data protection.
• Valuable experience with enterprise SaaS due diligence or customer assurance.
• Valuable experience in HR technology, recruitment, assessment, or occupational psychology.
• Valuable experience in implementing regulated software.
• Valuable experience in customer-facing consulting or solutions roles.
• Valuable experience drafting policies, DPIAs, risk assessments, governance packs, or customer-facing documentation.
