This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the AI governance framework across the entire organization at Cotiviti.

• Create and suggest AI governance standards, reporting requirements, and processes for evidence collection.

• Regularly maintain and revise AI governance policies, standards, procedures, and supporting documentation.

• Manage AI-related inquiries from clients, regulators, and third parties, including intake, triage, coordination of responses, and reporting.

• Facilitate reporting for executives and the Board on AI governance, risk management, regulatory updates, and program maturity.

• Lead or co-lead the AI governance committee and supervise the processes for AI intake and risk-tier reviews.

• Keep an organized, audit-ready inventory of AI use cases, which includes risk assessments, approvals, testing artifacts, limitations, and records retention.

• Supervise post-deployment monitoring by tracking attestations, mitigation actions, and compliance status.

• Offer governance guidance for external demonstrations or disclosures regarding AI capabilities.

• Provide leadership reporting on the health of AI governance, inquiry trends, compliance gaps, risk outcomes, and governance maturity.

• Organize training, awareness, and communication programs related to AI governance.

• Keep abreast of new AI laws, regulations, enforcement actions, industry standards, and client expectations.

• Prepare for internal audits and external examinations related to AI.

• Collaborate with engineering and platform teams to integrate governance requirements into development workflows and automate evidence capture and controls.

• Release governance templates, updates to standards, and exemplars.

• Work together with legal, compliance, privacy, information security, information governance, and business leaders.

• Evaluate external AI governance frameworks and standards and suggest steps for alignment.

• Enhance governance workflows and minimize the timeline from intake to decision.

• Fulfill annual performance reviews or goal-setting tasks and any assigned special projects.

• Travel as directed by leadership (5%).


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Law, Public Policy, Risk Management, or a similar field is required.

• A minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in technology governance, risk management, compliance, legal, product oversight, or a similar field within a complex, regulated environment.

• At least 5 years of experience in AI, data, or technology governance; regulatory compliance; risk management or audit readiness; oversight of complex, cross-functional technology or product programs; or handling external inquiries such as client audits, RFPs, regulatory requests, or attestations.

• Proven experience coordinating among business, legal, compliance, and technical teams to establish standards, manage risk, and facilitate enterprise decision-making.

• Experience in regulated sectors such as healthcare, financial services, government contracting, or technology-driven services.

• Extensive and demonstrated knowledge of AI governance concepts, risk-tiering models, post-deployment monitoring, and documentation that is audit-ready.

• Experience interacting with external stakeholders, including clients, regulators, or auditors.

• Ability to perform responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Capability to provide a dedicated, secure work area.

• Access to high-speed internet and the ability to set up and maintain an office environment.

• Travel as required by leadership (5%).

• Preferred certifications include IAPP Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (AIGP), IAPP privacy certifications such as CIPP and/or CIPM, ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer or Lead Auditor, ISACA certifications such as CISA and/or CRISC, or another pertinent risk, audit, or compliance certification.

• An advanced degree is strongly preferred, such as a Juris Doctor (JD), Master’s degree, or equivalent graduate education.
