This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +18 more states.
• Serve as the primary authority within the pod, demonstrating extensive knowledge in grocery retail and CPG sectors — including merchandising, supply chain, store operations, trade, and e-commerce — allowing you to confidently engage with stakeholders at any level. As the pod grows, you will specialize further in a specific vertical, becoming Instacart's foremost expert in that area.
• Identify core challenges by collaborating with partner teams to determine where agentic AI can truly drive business transformation — focusing on impactful changes rather than merely what is technically feasible. Convert these challenges into actionable AI use cases for the pod to develop.
• Spearhead discovery and requirements gathering. Conduct organized workshops at partner sites, uncover and prioritize the use case map, and translate field insights into clear directives for the pod and R&D. You will act as a liaison between partner needs and development outcomes.
• Demonstrate capabilities rather than simply describe them. Lead interactive demonstrations and platform tours that align with the partner's unique workflows — effectively translating abstract AI capabilities into tangible, compelling experiences. Your ability to showcase possibilities is as crucial as your ability to explain them.
• Take ownership of adoption initiatives. Facilitate change management processes that ensure successful deployment — including new operational rhythms, redesigning workflows, and user training. Your effectiveness will be measured by changes in team behavior, rather than just software implementation.
• This position is field-oriented. Frequent travel is integral to the role — anticipate being on-site at partner locations regularly, potentially over 50% of the time. If you excel in collaborative environments rather than traditional office settings, you will find success here.
• Over 10 years of diverse experience — including in-depth industry expertise within grocery retail or CPG, B2B consulting that translates domain knowledge into effective business solutions, and preferably experience with a technology or AI firm where you have observed platform construction and sales.
• Comprehensive domain expertise in at least one grocery vertical — such as merchandising, supply chain, store operations, e-commerce, trade marketing, or CPG — enabling you to gain the trust of category managers, VPs of supply chain, or CPG trade leaders from the initial discussion.
• Proven capability to conduct consultative discovery sessions with senior enterprise stakeholders and convert insights into structured requirements.
• Experience in leading organizational change management — including training, workflow redesign, and integrating new operational practices with business teams.
• Outstanding communication skills and executive presence — comfortable presenting to both C-suite and operational teams, with the ability to navigate ambiguous and emerging environments.
• Proficiency in BI and analytics platforms (such as Tableau, Looker, Power BI) and workshop facilitation tools (like Miro, Lucidspark) — essential for understanding what you are replacing or enhancing and how to effectively map those transitions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Openness to travel approximately 50% within North America.
• Highly competitive compensation and benefits package.
• Equity grant for new hires.
• Annual refresh grants.
