This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +15 more states.
• Design, implement, and oversee production AI systems, encompassing agents, harnesses, tools, and evaluation pipelines.
• Guarantee the reliability, latency, cost-effectiveness, and accuracy of AI systems.
• Create capabilities in numerical optimization, forecasting, computer vision, machine learning, and anomaly detection.
• Build and execute cloud-based infrastructure for AI and ML models.
• Architect, refine, and assess tools, function calls, and prompt templates.
• Develop tailored user interfaces for AI workflows in alignment with user specifications.
• Ensure AI systems comply with ONEOK IT and security protocols during their transition to production.
• Design APIs, SDKs, or frameworks utilized by other engineering teams.
• Implement and oversee production systems, including monitoring, incident management, and cost oversight.
• Work collaboratively with business partners and cross-functional teams.
• Provide mentorship to junior staff on advanced technologies.
• Travel as necessary to support IT infrastructure projects, implementation, or collaboration across various business sites.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in software engineering.
• Proven experience in shipping and maintaining AI/ML systems in live environments.
• Extensive familiarity with LLM-based systems, including agent frameworks, tool utilization, evaluations, prompt engineering, and retrieval techniques.
• Strong proficiency in Python programming.
• Understanding of optimization, forecasting, or computer vision.
• Experience in designing APIs, SDKs, or frameworks for use by other engineers.
• Demonstrated capability in deploying and managing production systems, including monitoring, incident response, and cost management.
• High proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL.
• Expertise in the LLM ecosystem, including agentic coding, AI harnesses, model APIs, Anthropic, AWS Bedrock, and OpenAI.
• Proficiency in cloud platforms, including IaaS and PaaS, such as AWS, Azure, and Terraform.
• Experience with SDLC, CI/CD pipelines, code repositories, and branching strategies, including ADO, GitHub, and GitLab.
• Knowledge of relational database design, covering table structures, indexes, and primary/foreign key fields.
• Ability to present solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Competence in developing solutions to complex problems through abstract thinking.
• Capability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks with conflicting deadlines.
• Skill in conducting meetings and delivering information to individuals and groups.
• Proficiency in applying mathematical, algebraic, statistical, and volumetric methods.
• Self-motivated and self-directed with the ability to influence and facilitate discussions across teams and technologies.
• Capability to mentor junior personnel.
• No licenses or certifications are necessary.
• Preferred: Relevant certifications in cloud, data science, machine learning, or data engineering.
• Willingness to travel as required.
• May be assigned a company vehicle, necessitating the appropriate driver's license.
