AI Engineer – Forward Deployed Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Create innovative GenAI solutions by utilizing the latest methodologies from Databricks AI research to address customer challenges.

• Take ownership of the deployment of GenAI applications for both consumers and internal use.

• Act as a reliable technical advisor to clients across diverse sectors.

• Deliver presentations at conferences like the Data + AI Summit, establishing recognition as a thought leader both within the organization and externally.

• Work collaboratively with product and engineering teams to influence priorities and contribute to shaping the product roadmap.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in developing GenAI applications, including RAG, multi-agent systems, Text2SQL, and fine-tuning, using tools such as HuggingFace, LangChain, and DSPy.

• Proficient in deploying production-quality GenAI applications, encompassing evaluation and optimization processes.

• Several years of hands-on experience in the data science industry, utilizing standard machine learning and data science tools like pandas, scikit-learn, and PyTorch.

• Experience in building production-level machine learning deployments on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• A graduate degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Operations Research) or equivalent practical experience.

• Ability to convey technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• A strong passion for teamwork, continuous learning, and delivering business value through AI.

• [Preferred] Familiarity with the Databricks Intelligence Platform and Apache Spark™ for processing large-scale distributed datasets.

• Willingness to travel every 4-8 weeks as necessary to meet with customers.
