AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Chile.

📋 Description

• Design and optimize deep learning and transformer architectures for high-impact, specific tasks.

• Enhance transformer models for inference and scalability in critical production environments.

• Lead large-scale fine-tuning initiatives using domain-specific proprietary data.

• Develop scalable GenAI services with caching, batching, and a focus on cost efficiency.

• Integrate multimodal systems into high-impact productive use cases.

• Define and create frameworks for prompt evaluation and output quality for the entire team.

• Implement human-in-the-loop evaluation methodologies in critical projects.

• Audit and enhance the security and alignment of the outputs generated by the team's systems.

• Quantify and communicate the strategic impact (revenue, efficiency, risk mitigation) of solutions at an executive level.

• Self-manage a prioritized portfolio of GenAI projects based on business value.

• Collaborate with product teams to outline the roadmap for GenAI initiatives.

• Amplify technical knowledge through formal mentoring, code reviews, and documentation of best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Professional degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field with a strong quantitative and computational component.

• Between 4 and 6+ years in generative AI roles, Machine Learning Engineering, or applied AI.

• At least 3 GenAI projects successfully deployed with measurable impact.

• Experience in deep learning and transformers (GPT, BERT, LLaMA, or equivalents).

• Proficiency in fine-tuning and model adaptation using LoRA/PEFT.

• Experience with APIs and frameworks for LLMs: OpenAI, Anthropic, LangChain, LlamaIndex, and HuggingFace.

• Familiarity with multimodal AI (text, vision, and audio) in productive use cases.

• Experience in inference optimization (caching, batching, quantization, distillation) with GPU/TPU support.

• Knowledge of human-in-the-loop methodology and Responsible AI principles.

• Desirable: Knowledge of NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001, or EU AI Act.

• Desirable: Experience with RLHF.

• Desirable: Application of GenAI models in finance (scoring, fraud detection, financial NLP).

• Desirable: Architecture experience on Vertex AI or SageMaker.
