This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +31 more states.
• Develop and manage AI products that tackle learning and operational challenges at SNHU.
• Collaborate within small, integrated AI teams alongside SNHU personnel who are responsible for the relevant issues.
• Create agent orchestration, tool usage, memory, retrieval, and integrations that connect AI solutions to SNHU's systems of record and data.
• Engage in discussions regarding architecture, prompt design, evaluations, and Architectural Decision Records.
• Execute and manage specific tests and evaluations for solutions.
• Keep track of instrumentation for actionable offline and in-product signals.
• Utilize agent and orchestration frameworks including LangGraph/LangChain, CrewAI, AutoGen, and MCP.
• Identify delivery and technical risks, obstacles, and uncertainties at an early stage.
• Produce clean, thoroughly tested, and maintainable code.
• Employ AI development tools on a daily basis and share effective practices with the team.
• Collaborate with engineers from the host team on AI-enhanced development techniques.
• Contribute to documents such as Agent Design Briefs, ADRs, Evaluation Scorecards, Deployment and Operations Runbooks, and retrospectives.
• Elevate reusable work into shared AI Engineering resources, encompassing prompt and skill libraries, evaluation templates, reference architectures, and entries in practice handbooks.
• Work together with the AI Analyst, Domain Product Owner, and Senior AI Engineer.
• Take part in discovery, shaping, sprint planning, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with SNHU AI on governance, safety, evaluation, and adoption processes.
• Coordinate with IT regarding infrastructure, IAM, security reviews, and DevOps activities.
• Update pod members and host-team partners on progress, obstacles, and resolutions.
• Over 3 years of experience in building and delivering production software at scale using one or more modern programming languages.
• Ability to quickly become proficient in Python.
• Experience in production environments with at least one major cloud provider: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Familiarity with serverless computing, object storage solutions, and NoSQL databases.
• Practical experience with LLMs, including orchestration, prompts, and basic evaluations, either in production or through substantial hands-on experimentation.
• A desire to learn about and engage with agentic frameworks such as LangGraph/LangChain, CrewAI, AutoGen, and MCP.
• A foundational understanding of LLM evaluation, including conducting evaluations, interpreting results, and recognizing outputs that need verification.
• Comfort with cloud-native development practices, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code principles.
• Experience with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
• Daily hands-on use of AI development tools like Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and GitHub Copilot.
• Proven track record of enhancing the use of AI development tools.
• Experience working in collaborative team environments or Agile delivery settings, including interactions with non-engineering team members.
• Must reside in and work from one of SNHU's approved states.
