This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Collaborate closely with the CTO, AI consultant, and development team to architect and implement robust, scalable AI/ML frameworks.
• Develop, train, and sustain AI models, data pipelines, and integration processes with APIs, databases, and SaaS platforms.
• Explore new LLMs, embeddings, vector databases, and orchestration frameworks (such as LangChain, Semantic Kernel, or similar).
• Lead hands-on development and prototyping of applications based on LLMs, intelligent agents, and automation workflows.
• Establish AI architecture standards, implement model governance, and contribute to the long-term AI strategy in partnership with the CTO.
• Collaborate with business and technical leaders to convert strategic AI objectives into actionable engineering tasks.
• Design systems that ensure high availability, scalability, and efficient deployment in cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Produce technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and playbooks to facilitate the deployment and scaling of AI solutions.
• Engage in code reviews, mentor junior developers, and promote a culture of innovation and excellence in AI engineering.
• Remain at the forefront of emerging AI frameworks, APIs, and tools, introducing practical innovations to enhance products and systems.
• A minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience is required.
• At least 3 years of experience in building or designing AI/ML systems is required.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C#, or similar is essential.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, vector databases, embeddings, and prompt orchestration is necessary.
• Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks (OpenAI, Hugging Face, LangChain, Semantic Kernel, etc.) and cloud ecosystems (Azure AI, AWS SageMaker, GCP Vertex AI) is expected.
• Experience in developing and integrating data pipelines, APIs, and AI inference services is required.
• Strong analytical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills are a must.
• Ability to balance hands-on technical work with high-level system design and strategic planning is essential.
• A curiosity and drive to stay ahead of emerging AI tools, frameworks, and trends is crucial.
