AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Collaborate closely with Legal, Compliance, and the MLRO to assist with internal compliance policy evaluations, document delivery, remediation tracking, and provide technical support.

• Monitor compliance-related obligations for new product and service introductions, coordinating necessary actions with appropriate stakeholders.

• Work alongside Legal and Compliance teams to recognize, design, and implement AI-powered solutions that enhance the efficiency and scalability of compliance and legal operations.

• Improve intelligent systems by utilizing LLMs, RAG, agentic workflows, long-term memory, tool utilization, subagents, and multi-agent architectures for the management of legal documents.

• Create benchmark frameworks and evaluation methodologies for AI systems in legal and compliance, including the construction of benchmark datasets, design of annotation strategies, and measurement of performance.

• Continuously assess and enhance systems focusing on retrieval quality, latency, groundedness, factual accuracy, and task success metrics.

• Perform independent research and swiftly prototype innovative solutions to address complex legal and compliance workflow challenges.

• Assist with related administrative and operational tasks in alignment with the company's compliance standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of pertinent experience in compliance technology, legal technology, regulatory technology, or software/application development that supports compliance or legal functions.

• In-depth knowledge of relevant compliance regulations, rules, and daily compliance operations.

• A Bachelor’s degree is required.

• A background in AI, Computer Science, Engineering, Law, or related fields is preferred.

• Practical experience in developing production RAG systems, including embeddings, vector databases, hybrid search, reranking, chunking strategies, text preprocessing, and multimodal parsing.

• Experience in deploying advanced Agentic RAG methodologies such as Self-RAG, Corrective RAG, adaptive retrieval, and multi-hop reasoning workflows.

• Strong grasp of LLM and agent principles, including prompt engineering, context engineering, memory, planning, tool usage, MCP, and multi-agent systems.

• Proven ability to conduct independent research, tackle ambiguous issues, and rapidly prototype actionable solutions.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin is preferred to facilitate coordination with international partners and stakeholders.
