AI Engineer – Architect, IFS Cloud

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the comprehensive application architecture for IFS Cloud, encompassing Projects, FSM, Resource Management, Manufacturing, and Finance.

• Establish and manage IFS Cloud reference architectures, design patterns, and guidelines, in alignment with Evergreen and SaaS operating principles.

• Advocate for a configuration-first approach, reducing customization to promote long-term maintainability.

• Convert business and operational needs into scalable, secure, and sustainable IFS Cloud solutions.

• Develop environment strategies for DEV, TEST, and PROD to facilitate secure delivery and operational reliability.

• Create extension strategies utilizing standard IFS features (APIs, Business Events, projections, external services).

• Ensure that non-functional requirements such as performance, availability, security, and resilience are incorporated into solution designs.

• Design and enable AI use cases, including integrated IFS AI features: service planning and scheduling optimization, demand forecasting, and anomaly detection.

• Create AI-enhanced business processes, embedding AI insights directly into operational workflows.

• Foster trust in AI recommendations through human-in-the-loop decision-making. Establish feedback mechanisms to track outcomes and enhance AI-enabled functionalities.

• Architect comprehensive integration solutions between IFS Cloud and upstream CRM platforms, focusing on lead-to-order, service demand, and contract lifecycle processes.

• Design event-driven integration architectures leveraging IFS Business Events as the primary integration mechanism.

• Ensure systems integrate via a common model as opposed to point-to-point mappings, enhancing scalability and maintainability.

• Encourage loose coupling between IFS Cloud and external systems to facilitate Evergreen upgrades and platform development.

• Assist in enterprise reporting and advanced analytics by maintaining data accuracy and lineage. Work in collaboration with analytics and data platform teams to align IFS data structures with enterprise BI, AI, and machine learning initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

• Legal authorization to work in the US is mandatory - we will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

• More than 5 years of experience in full-cycle IFS Cloud implementations, upgrades, or migrations.

• Extensive IFS functional and technical expertise, with a solid understanding of AI, data architecture, and cloud platforms—serving as a trusted advisor to both business and IT leadership.

• Define architecture standards covering security, error handling, retries, and monitoring.

• Ensure integrations comply with security, compliance, and data privacy requirements, including role-based access and secure message handling.

• Provide architectural guidance for integration challenges throughout implementations, upgrades, and production support.

• Design identity and access integrations utilizing Azure AD, SSO, OAuth, and role-based access controls.

• Confirm that integration designs are consistent with IFS financial, project, and service processes, minimizing data duplication and reconciliation efforts.

• Establish integration patterns that facilitate near-real-time and asynchronous processing, based on business criticality and transaction volumes.
