This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• The AI Engineer facilitates system-specific implementations that incorporate AI/ML and agentic automation to enhance metadata identification, extraction, enrichment, and documentation.
• Develop AI-driven metadata harvesting and enrichment strategies.
• Execute agentic/GenAI workflows for metadata documentation.
• Take ownership of the metadata harvesting strategy.
• Serve as a human-in-the-loop steward for validation processes.
• Responsible for determining automation scope.
• Construct and sustain scalable pipelines with a focus on metadata.
• Integrate RAG/knowledge for semantic discovery.
• Establish metadata quality metrics and validation controls.
• Conduct technical testing and verification.
• Mentor team members to enhance engineering standards.
• Must be capable of OBTAINING and MAINTAINING a Federal or DoD "PUBLIC TRUST".
• Preference given to candidates with an ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE OR PUBLIC TRUST or SUITABILITY.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required.
• 3-5+ years of experience in AI engineering, applied ML, or data/AI solution development within enterprise settings, aligning with senior-level expectations for the specified agentic AI role.
• Strong expertise in Python; working knowledge of SQL; familiarity with R is advantageous for statistical validation/profiling.
• Practical experience with Generative AI (LLMs and/or similar) and Agentic AI architectures applied to real-world workflows.
• Experience with RAG pipelines, along with familiarity with vector databases and knowledge graphs for semantic retrieval and metadata-driven discovery.
• Proficiency with AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow and/or PyTorch (or equivalent).
• Proven ability to convert AI techniques into actionable, auditable engineering results and effectively communicate with both technical experts and non-technical stakeholders.
