AI Engagement Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Lead engagements in AI/GenAI from the initial discovery phase through solution definition, development, deployment, and production.

• Act as the main technical and delivery liaison for clients and senior stakeholders.

• Convert business goals into AI/ML solution requirements and actionable engineering strategies.

• Oversee project planning, prioritization, timelines, milestones, risks, dependencies, and overall project delivery.

• Coordinate efforts among AI Engineers, Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Product Managers, and client teams.

• Facilitate client meetings, status updates, technical walkthroughs, and solution brainstorming sessions.

• Identify potential delivery risks, technical obstacles, resource limitations, and dependencies, driving them to resolution.

• Architect, develop, and implement AI/ML and Generative AI solutions tailored for enterprise applications.

• Lead the hands-on development of applications powered by LLMs, RAG systems, AI agents, and agentic workflows.

• Design and execute comprehensive AI application architectures, which include LLM integration, prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, embeddings, vector databases, tool/function calling, agent orchestration, evaluation, and monitoring.

• Utilize technologies such as LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, or equivalent.

• Integrate foundational models and LLM platforms, including OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Amazon Bedrock, Gemini, or open-source models.

• Develop production-ready AI services and APIs using Python, FastAPI, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms.

• Design retrieval pipelines that encompass document processing, chunking, embedding generation, vector search, hybrid retrieval, and re-ranking.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in software engineering, AI/ML engineering, data science, or a closely related technical discipline.

• Strong hands-on expertise in building and deploying AI/ML or Generative AI solutions.

• Demonstrated experience in leading technical teams or AI engineering groups while remaining actively involved in development.

• High proficiency in Python and experience in developing production-quality applications.

• Comprehensive understanding of LLMs, Generative AI, NLP, RAG, and AI agents.

• Familiarity with AI/GenAI frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, or equivalent.

• Experience with LLM APIs and foundational models, including OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, Bedrock, Gemini, or open-source LLMs.

• Knowledge of vector databases and semantic search technologies.

• Experience in designing and deploying cloud-based AI solutions on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Solid understanding of APIs, microservices, Docker, CI/CD, and production deployment processes.

• Experience in AI evaluation, monitoring, guardrails, and responsible AI practices is highly desirable.

• Exceptional client-facing communication and stakeholder management abilities.

• Capability to translate ambiguous business challenges into effective technical solutions.

• A Master’s in Business Analytics or equivalent work experience.
