This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.
β’ Design and manage the fundamental AI orchestration layers, centralized API gateways, and reusable frameworks (e.g., advanced RAG architectures, agentic frameworks) for organization-wide utilization.
β’ Work closely with core engineering teams to integrate production-ready generative AI and machine learning features into the Actian Data Intelligence Platform.
β’ Implement stringent guardrails, evaluation frameworks, and monitoring tools to assess model performance, bias, data privacy, and security across all AI applications.
β’ Continuously oversee and optimize cloud and API compute expenditures (token management, open-source versus commercial models) and enhance execution latency for production AI features.
β’ Facilitate workshops, create design blueprints, and produce documentation to empower non-AI engineering teams to confidently develop and maintain their AI-driven features.
β’ Spearhead the engineering execution of impactful AI proof-of-concepts, ensuring they are developed with production-level code that scales efficiently.
β’ Establish and uphold the organization's official AI stack, including vector database selection, vector embedding strategies, and semantic caching mechanisms.
β’ Assess and manage collaborations with AI model providers and lead the technical evaluation of state-of-the-art open-source models to maintain Actian's position at the forefront of innovation.
β’ Define and monitor operational metrics for the AI Enablement function, including developer adoption rates, reduction in time-to-market for AI features, and ROI of implemented AI tools.
β’ Proven experience as a Senior AI/ML Engineer, LLMOps Engineer, or Software Architect with a successful track record of building and scaling AI-powered applications in enterprise SaaS or complex data platforms.
β’ Extensive technical knowledge in Python or Go, semantic search, vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Milvus, pgvector), orchestration frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex), and fine-tuning or prompt engineering of advanced Large Language Models (LLMs).
β’ High-agency mindset. You take the initiative to build frameworks that address bottlenecks for product teams before they recognize the need.
β’ Approach AI development with the principles of software engineering. You are familiar with CI/CD, unit testing for AI (evaluation datasets), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and clean code architecture.
β’ Outstanding leadership and communication skills. You can motivate and align diverse engineering teams around a collective technical vision without being their direct supervisor.
β’ Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Capable of translating complex AI phenomena or architectures into clear business value for internal stakeholders and executives.
β’ The opportunity to be part of an innovative, rapidly growing company that is making a substantial impact in the data management sector.
β’ Collaboration with a passionate and diverse team.
β’ Competitive salary and benefits package.
β’ Flexible work arrangements (remote or hybrid).
β’ Opportunities for professional growth and development.
