This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Take ownership of, develop, and uphold enterprise AI governance policies and standards, which encompass Responsible AI principles, acceptable use, documentation requirements, and risk thresholds.
• Create and sustain the AI policy hierarchy, ensuring alignment between enterprise policy, supporting standards, and control requirements.
• Convert regulatory expectations and industry frameworks, such as the NIST AI Risk Management Framework, into actionable policies and standards.
• Establish criteria for policy exceptions and define escalation pathways.
• Identify, define, and document AI governance controls throughout the AI lifecycle.
• Craft control statements that outline intent, scope, applicability, and expected evidence artifacts.
• Set minimum controls based on AI risk tiers, model characteristics, data sensitivity, and usage context.
• Collaborate with engineering, security, and delivery teams to integrate measurable controls into the SDLC and operational workflows.
• Maintain authoritative documentation of AI controls for audits, regulatory reviews, and internal assurance.
• Assist client-facing teams with AI governance content for inquiries, RFPs, and due diligence processes.
• Create business-friendly explanations of AI governance practices for clients and auditors.
• Support AI risk classification, documentation traceability, and readiness for audits.
• Prepare and maintain evidence related to AI governance for audits, regulatory reviews, and client inquiries.
• Monitor AI-related findings and remediation status to enhance governance policies, standards, and controls.
• 5–8+ years of experience in AI governance, model risk management, compliance, audit, privacy, or related risk functions.
• Possession of an industry certification such as Certified AI Governance Professional (AIGP), Advanced in AI Audit (AAIA), Risk & AI Certificate (RAI), or a similar credential.
• Capability to translate complex technical AI concepts into policies, standards, and control requirements.
• A practical, risk-based mindset that balances compliance rigor with business adoption.
• Excellent written communication skills, sound judgment, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Work authorization in the employing country without the need for current or future visa sponsorship.
• Successful completion of a background check, as it pertains to the position.
• Ability to engage in video interviews; a camera-on culture is expected.
• Occasional travel to a physical Alight office may be necessary.
