AI Enablement Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Define the technical vision for AI Enablement.

• Identify and spearhead solutions to intricate, high-impact challenges within the organization.

• Establish engineering standards and patterns.

• Collaborate directly with various functions to grasp their goals and workflows.

• Prioritize initiatives where AI Enablement can deliver significant value.

• Guide projects from problem identification through experimentation to quantifiable results.

• Develop and implement AI-driven tools, agents, automations, and traditional software.

• Make decisions on build vs. buy based on value, capability, cost, security, and maintainability.

• Construct scalable, secure, observable, reliable, and maintainable production systems.

• Set benchmarks and evaluate engineering, tooling, and model costs against the value generated.

• Create reusable capabilities, governance frameworks, and methodologies.

• Shape and oversee AI tooling, security, production utilization, and expenditures.

• Share expertise, mentor others, and elevate AI and engineering competencies within the organization.

• Establish best practices and deliver actionable insights.

• Lead an initial opportunity from discovery through experimentation to production.

• Develop a repeatable AI Enablement model and scale successful strategies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Ideally, 10+ years of experience in designing, building, and operating complex production software.

• Strong hands-on experience with modern AI, particularly in AI-powered products, internal AI tools, or production LLM applications.

• Experience leading intricate, high-impact technical projects across team or functional boundaries.

• Solid foundation in architecture and software engineering, covering APIs, integrations, cloud infrastructure, security, scalability, observability, and reliability.

• Strong instincts regarding product and commercial aspects.

• Excellent strategic judgment linking technical choices to business outcomes.

• Ability to work independently, influence without authority, and drive critical tasks to measurable results.

• Outstanding communication, listening, and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Strong judgment concerning build vs. buy decisions, governance, security, quality, and cost.

• Proven track record of enhancing the effectiveness of others through technical leadership, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.

• Strong growth mindset and dedication to providing actionable feedback.

• Deep curiosity about AI and a desire to apply it for organizational enhancement.

• Experience with tools that assist teams in utilizing AI, agentic systems, AI evaluation and orchestration, AI governance, and AI tooling/model expenditure management is a plus.
