This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +13 more states.
• Design, create, test, implement, and provide support for production applications and AI-driven solutions.
• Develop solutions utilizing custom code, APIs, cloud services, databases, integrations, and approved enterprise platforms.
• Act as a technical advisor for business teams, collaborating with users throughout the phases of solution design, prototyping, testing, refinement, and deployment.
• Oversee solution delivery from initial discovery through deployment and early-life support, managing scope, requirements, priorities, timelines, risks, testing, communication, and handoff.
• Produce clean, maintainable, secure, testable, and well-documented code by adhering to disciplined software engineering practices.
• Convert business and operational requirements into technical designs, prototypes, functional software, and scalable production applications.
• Develop front-end, service-tier, API, integration, automation workflow, and data-layer components.
• Identify defects, troubleshoot production issues, refactor prototypes, and enhance solutions for enterprise usage.
• Review and confirm the correctness, security, maintainability, performance, and readiness for production of AI-generated code.
• Create reusable components, deployment patterns, templates, documentation, and support practices across functions and manufacturing sites.
• Collaborate with IT architecture, security, infrastructure, data, and application teams to uphold enterprise standards and responsible AI usage.
• Assist citizen developers and solution owners by providing guardrails, technical coaching, and governed transitions to production.
• Work together with stakeholders across operations, engineering, quality, supply chain, commercial, finance, HR, and IT.
• Expect to travel around 40% domestically and internationally in the first year, with a possibility of reduced travel in the second year.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident for ITAR-regulated positions.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering, or a closely related technical field is required, or equivalent professional software development experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
• A minimum of three years of progressive work experience in information technology, automation, business systems, manufacturing technology, analytics, software delivery, AI enablement, or a related area.
• Three to five years of direct experience as a software developer or engineer, successfully delivering working code in business or operational contexts.
• Capability to independently read, write, debug, modify, and elucidate production-quality code.
• Strong hands-on development experience with Python and/or TypeScript.
• Familiarity with Git, branching, pull requests, code reviews, testing, deployment, documentation, monitoring, and production support processes.
• Experience in consuming, developing, securing, and troubleshooting REST APIs or similar integration interfaces.
• Proficiency in debugging applications through code analysis, logging, error handling, testing, and systematic problem diagnosis.
• Working knowledge of application security, authentication, authorization, secrets management, error handling, data protection, and secure development practices.
• Ability to evaluate AI-generated code for accuracy, security, maintainability, and production readiness.
• Experience in translating business process improvement opportunities into actionable technical solutions with stakeholders.
• Experience in cross-functional initiatives within a multi-site or global context is preferred.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools, Azure-hosted applications, Databricks, manufacturing systems, HMI/SCADA, PLC-related workflows, or plant automation environments is preferred.
• Relevant certifications in Microsoft, Azure, software development, cloud, AI, Databricks, automation, or application development are preferred.
• Completion of a brief live coding exercise in a programming language of the candidate’s choice is required.
