AI-Augmented Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina, +5 more countries.

📋 Description

• Develop product software from start to finish, encompassing APIs, services, data models, and client stack interfaces.

• Transition software from conceptual problem statements to production-ready solutions utilized by client users.

• Draft specifications and tests prior to implementation.

• Commit and manage agent context within repositories.

• Oversee delivery gates that trigger with every modification.

• Review every code difference associated with the engineer's name.

• Take ownership of automated tests, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and failure management.

• Collaborate within client environments, repositories, participate in standups, and occasionally engage in customer calls.

• Utilize AI coding tools such as Claude Code and Codex in development.

• Conduct automated codebase audits to uncover security, cost, and architectural issues.

• Work independently of vendors across OpenAI, Anthropic, and open-weight models.

• Leverage Azumo's Valkyrie production layer when applicable.

• Deliver software solutions for client organizations as part of nearshore AI engineering teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in building and deploying production software in at least one modern programming language and tech stack.

• Strong engineering principles including testing, code reviews, CI/CD, Git, containerization, and API design.

• Proficiency in one tech stack with a willingness to adapt to another.

• Hands-on experience with both relational and non-relational databases, focusing on schema design and query optimization.

• Experience integrating with third-party APIs and services utilizing REST, OAuth, and JSON.

• Understanding of retries, timeouts, and handling failures of third-party services.

• Experience in automated testing, including unit and integration tests created in tandem with code development.

• Familiarity with cloud deployment using Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code tools such as GitHub Actions, Terraform, or Bicep.

• Daily engagement with AI coding agents beyond basic autocomplete, encompassing repository agents, preserving repo-level context, and reviewing all deployed code.

• Proficient in written and spoken English at a C1 level or higher.

• Ability to confidently communicate technical trade-offs directly to clients.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Preferred: In-depth frontend experience with frameworks like React, Vue, or similar.

• Preferred: Experience in mobile development, whether native or cross-platform.

• Preferred: Experience in building agent tooling, including MCP servers, hooks, sandboxes, or CI gates.

• Preferred: Performance optimization and cost management on production systems.

• Preferred: Experience delivering projects under SOC 2 or HIPAA compliance.

• Preferred: Contributions to open-source projects, published technical articles, or active involvement in engineering communities.
