This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Lead the development of high-impact AI platforms for healthcare information systems applications.
• Propel technical innovations and design cutting-edge AI architectures.
• Influence the incorporation of advanced AI in mission-critical healthcare products.
• Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and domain specialists to develop explainable, reliable, and transformative healthcare platforms and solutions.
• Architect, design, and implement AI platforms tailored to accommodate large language models, healthcare-specific language, regulatory requirements, and ethical considerations.
• Construct frameworks that support AI pipelines processing both structured and unstructured healthcare data, including FHIR, HL7, clinical notes, and claims data.
• Contribute to model architectures specific to clinical decision-making, revenue cycle management, and patient engagement.
• Act as the primary technical authority for AI platform development within product teams.
• Guide junior AI designers and engineers through code reviews, research mentorship, and technical workshops.
• Promote internal knowledge-sharing regarding emerging AI trends, frameworks, and best practices.
• Develop model evaluation frameworks to ensure accuracy, robustness, and fairness.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and HITRUST standards.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to transition research prototypes into production environments.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or a related field AND over 10 years of experience in developing AI/ML platforms both on the cloud and on-premises; OR over 15 years of experience in software engineering focusing on AI, Machine Learning, or a related field, with at least 10 years in building AI/ML platforms.
• Proficiency in Python and contemporary ML libraries.
• Experience with GenAI, LLMs, transformer architectures, and advanced model routing techniques.
• Familiarity with frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, LangChain, and LlamaIndex.
• Extensive experience in constructing enterprise-grade RAG systems, which includes advanced chunking, hybrid search, vector database management, and retrieval optimization.
• Practical knowledge of autonomous AI agents and reasoning systems, including Agent-to-Agent (A2A) communication protocols and Model Context Protocol (MCP).
• Advanced skills in agent context management, encompassing context-window optimization, stateful memory injection, caching strategies, and managing long-running agent contexts.
• Demonstrated ability in observability, logging, and scalable systems, including LLM/agent tracing.
• Proven history of applying AI architectures to scalable enterprise platforms and addressing complex use cases.
• Strong background in cloud platforms, on-premises deployments, and MLOps/LLMOps practices.
• Must possess legal authorization to work in the country of employment without the need for sponsorship for employment visa status.
• Additional qualifications include experience with knowledge graph databases such as Neo4j, NoSQL/SQL databases, native vector databases, GraphRAG, hybrid retrieval, Kubernetes, Terraform, LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, Semantic Kernel, LLM evaluation frameworks, LoRA, PEFT, model distillation, AI guardrails, prompt-injection defenses, and output validation.
