AI and Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +12 more states.

📋 Description

• Create integration and automation solutions that are production-ready: Design and implement workflows that seamlessly integrate cloud services, internal data sources, and LLM endpoints.

• Spearhead the development and deployment of domain-specific LLMs: Fine-tune lightweight models using internal data from Gong, Notion, BigQuery, and other resources, making them easily accessible to teams throughout the organization via user-friendly interfaces.

• Set standards and guidelines for AI and automation across the organization: Develop templates, documentation, and training materials that empower non-technical teams to confidently build and deploy their own automation workflows.

• Facilitate widespread adoption: Conduct hands-on workshops, provide ongoing support, and mentor colleagues so that everyone at UpGuard can effectively utilize AI and automation tools.

• Integrate security and governance: Incorporate privacy, compliance, and cost controls into every workflow and model deployment, ensuring reliability and data protection at an enterprise level.


⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in Python & SQL: Experience in delivering production systems that manage real data and users.

• Workflow orchestration: Practical experience with automation platforms (preferably n8n, but experience with Airflow, Zapier, or similar platforms is acceptable).

• AI/LLM expertise: Proven track record of leading AI/ML projects from initial concept to production.

• Effective communicator: Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and gather business requirements.

• Knowledge of Vector/RAG: Familiarity with embeddings, vector databases, or retrieval patterns.

• Training-oriented: Experience in creating documentation, tutorials, or empowering others to use technical tools.

• Cloud platform experience: Managed and deployed systems on GCP, AWS, or Azure.
