Agricultural Advisor, Climate Focus

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• As part of the Organic Climate Net initiative, you will oversee a collective of ten farms, mainly located in North Hesse, which will engage deeply with climate-related issues over the next 1.5 years.

• In the Climate Farm Demo project, you will focus on aiding farms in Lower Saxony to disseminate their knowledge regarding climate protection and adaptation through various event formats while enhancing their professional skills.

• Facilitate active knowledge transfer via peer advisory, technical articles, and advisory resources.

• Plan and execute demonstration events in collaboration with project management and participating farms.

• Develop customized action plans within farm networks and prepare and analyze farm-specific climate balances.

• Assist farms in the implementation of climate measures.

• Address questions related to arable farming while also taking into account mixed farming practices.

• Collaborate closely with German project partners and occasionally engage with European organizations.

• Maintain regular communication (often virtual) with internal climate and arable advisors to enhance methods, explore new approaches, and generate ideas.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in Agricultural Sciences (University/FH) or a comparable qualification.

• A strong affinity for organic farming, ideally with practical experience and some background in agricultural advisory work.

• A keen interest in climate-resilient agricultural systems and a passion for soil health topics.

• A desire to collaboratively develop climate-adapted farming concepts with farm managers and other stakeholders.

• Experience in gathering and analyzing climate balances is advantageous (project-specific training will be provided).

• A flair for organizing various event formats.

• A confident presence with effective communication skills when engaging with farmers, along with a strong ability to convey knowledge in presentations and articles.

• An independent and structured approach to work.

• Language proficiency: German C1; English preferably B1 for international coordination.

• A willingness to travel for advisory work, projects, and events—occasionally to other European countries.

• A valid driving license class B.
