Agentic Systems Engineer – TypeScript, .NET, MCP

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Moldova.

📋 Description

• Revitalize a legacy codebase that spans over a decade into a dynamic, agent-operable architecture.

• Break down legacy monoliths into modular systems that are agent-readable, maintaining strict boundaries and a single responsibility.

• Spearhead gradual modernization utilizing the Strangler Pattern and contract-driven interfaces.

• Uphold SOLID principles, Dependency Injection, and Hexagonal Architecture.

• Design and oversee the agent context layer, incorporating standardized Skills, Rules, and Commands.

• Develop and manage Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers that transform legacy APIs, services, and databases into secure, AI-friendly tools.

• Take ownership of contract-first API design that bridges human intent and autonomous agent execution.

• Serve as the architectural gatekeeper for pull requests generated by AI.

• Enforce test-driven development (TDD) and characterization testing throughout the refactoring process.

• Supervise and enhance agentic reasoning loops to ensure cost efficiency, speed, and architectural integrity.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years in software architecture, platform engineering, or technical leadership.

• Demonstrated experience in modernizing extensive, undocumented legacy systems.

• Profound hands-on knowledge of TypeScript, .NET, and Node.js.

• Solid foundation in API design, distributed systems, and modular architectures.

• Practical expertise in agentic development, MCP, LLM tooling, or AI-assisted engineering.

• Preference for clean code, deterministic systems, and production-ready AI.

• Experience with remote-first or globally distributed teams is a plus.

• Background in SaaS transformations, scale-ups, or environments backed by private equity is advantageous.

• Comfort in high-ambiguity, high-ownership environments is a plus.

• Ability to work during US morning hours (Scrum).
