This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• The Agency Development Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the Company's relationships with our agency business partners within a designated geographical area.
• The primary focus of this role is to identify strategic business partners, manage agency connections, plan for profitable growth, and provide support to achieve the territory's production goals, including Agricultural, Commercial Lines, and Personal Lines Business.
• Operating in a field environment, the Agency Development Manager will foster the development of new business, identify opportunities for book growth, offer agency training on systems and services, and assist assigned agents in maximizing profitable production.
• The Agency Development Manager is tasked with connecting agents to the appropriate in-company resources for pricing and quoting all lines of business within the territory.
• Collaborating with all CIG product lines, the Agency Development Manager will refer leads to the appropriate department or business function.
• A Bachelor's degree is preferred; however, equivalent experience in a related field will be taken into consideration.
• This role requires a continuous commitment to professional development in insurance, including completion or active participation in business-relevant insurance certifications such as IIA, AFIS, CPCU, or CIC.
• A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible business-related experience in roles such as Personal/Commercial Underwriter, Territorial Manager, Agency Producer, Underwriting Specialist, or similar insurance positions is necessary.
• The individual in this role must be capable of identifying strategic partners, assessing opportunities for growth and profitability, managing constructive relationships, developing effective business plans, and managing the territory to achieve results.
• The selected candidate must demonstrate the ability to apply sound insurance principles professionally and operate effectively in a remote work environment with minimal supervision.
• This person must be willing and able to travel extensively within their territory, with an expectation of performing 75% of their work week traveling, including several overnight trips each month.
• This position requires adherence to a weekly routine of Monday office time, with the remainder of the week dedicated to visiting agencies within the territory.
• Candidates must possess authorization to work in the United States without requiring current or future visa sponsorship.
