This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Handle incoming and outgoing calls from individuals seeking legal assistance.

• Offer information and guidance to clients.

• Conduct client interviews, document case summaries, and maintain case files.

• Examine notices, records, and other materials to establish relevant facts.

• Draft legal documents and advisory letters.

• Investigate factual matters and identify issues to formulate relevant advocacy strategies and potential actions.

• Research applicable laws and apply Disability Rights California’s standards to determine the appropriate level of support for each client.

• Create and execute case options and strategies that align with legal requirements and specific circumstances.

• Design and deliver outreach education and training sessions for clients, community organizations, advocates, and others.

• Foster and enhance connections with local community-based organizations.


⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience demonstrating proficiency in client interaction, data gathering, and oral presentation skills.

• Capable of communicating fluently and effectively in American Sign Language, Spanish, or an Asian language.

• Excellent organizational abilities with a knack for managing multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently and promptly.

• (Desirable) Associate's (AA or AS) degree in a related discipline or equivalent from a two-year college or technical institution OR Bachelor's (BA or BS) degree in a related field from a four-year university OR a comparable combination of experience and/or training.

• (Desirable) Proven capacity to interview individuals through various means including phone, in-person, or email.

• (Desirable) Familiarity with laws, rights, and services relevant to individuals with disabilities, and/or experience in directly representing individuals with disabilities.
