Advisor – Utility Commission Strategy, Part-Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide guidance on regulatory positioning: clearly express how our product aligns with commission objectives.

• Facilitate regulatory engagement: enhance our communication of value to commissions, foresee potential concerns, and advise on the relevant stakeholders to engage and the most effective approaches.

• Interpret regulatory signals: assist in understanding emerging commission priorities and market trends to enable us to adjust our product and positioning as needed.

• Utilize your network: leverage connections with contacts in state commissions, utilities, and energy policy organizations to enhance education and establish credibility.

⛳️ Requirements

• Familiarity with the process: you have held a senior position at a state utility commission or a regulatory affairs or policy leadership role at an electric utility or Independent Power Producer (IPP), with extensive involvement in commission decision-making.

• Extensive network: you have strong connections across commissions and utilities, including relationships with regulatory staff, policy leaders, and utility executives who influence credit and risk assessments.

• Regulatory insight: you possess an understanding of how commissions view reliability, liquidity, credit risk, and ratepayer protections.

• Experience with renewables: you have worked in markets characterized by high penetration of renewable energy and storage solutions.

• Strategic and practical: you convert your regulatory and utility experience into clear, actionable advice that renders our product comprehensible, credible, and acceptable.

• Trusted authority: your experience provides you with the credibility necessary to navigate complex regulatory landscapes and foster confidence among decision-makers.
