
Advanced Systems Engineer – Terminals Bid Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Oversee the complete bid management process from the receipt of RFQ to the submission of proposals and the awarding of contracts.
• Formulate bid strategies that are in line with customer needs and business goals.
• Facilitate bid qualification, make go/no-go decisions, and conduct opportunity assessments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create thorough technical and commercial proposals.
• Manage proposal timelines, deliverables, reviews, approvals, and submission deadlines.
• Ensure adherence to customer specifications, tender requirements, contractual obligations, and company standards.
• Maintain governance over proposals, conduct risk reviews, and oversee approval processes.
• Assist sales teams during negotiations and the finalization of contracts.
• Interact with customers to gain insights into operational challenges and business needs.
• Convert customer requirements into detailed Terminal Automation solutions.
• Create solution architectures that encompass: Terminal Automation Systems (TAS), Tank Farm Management, Inventory Management, Loading & Unloading Automation, Batch Control Systems, Access Control Systems, Weighbridge Integration, ERP Integration, Tank Gauging Systems, SCADA/PLC Integration, Product Movement & Logistics Automation.
• Conduct solution workshops and technical discovery sessions.
• Suggest optimal hardware, software, networking, cloud, cybersecurity, and integration architectures.
• Assist in digital transformation efforts for terminal operations.
• Generate detailed engineering and implementation cost estimates.
• Prepare project sizing, execution effort estimates, and resource planning.
• Develop cost models that include: Software licenses, Engineering services, Custom development, Testing and commissioning, Infrastructure, Support services, and Third-party solutions.
• Collaborate with procurement and vendors to secure pricing information.
• Aid commercial teams in pricing strategies and margin enhancement.
• Balance technical compliance, competitiveness, and profitability.
• Compile and validate comprehensive project BOMs covering: Application Software, Database Software, Virtualization Platforms, Server Infrastructure, Network Equipment, Industrial Communication Components, HMI/SCADA Components, Cybersecurity Solutions, Integration Interfaces, Cloud Services, and Third-Party Products.
• Ensure technical accuracy, compliance, and cost efficiency.
• Conduct customer workshops and deliver solution presentations.
• Lead technical bid review sessions.
• Present the proposed architecture, execution plan, and project approach.
• Address technical inquiries from customers during evaluation phases.
• Foster strong relationships with customer stakeholders, consultants, EPC contractors, and partners.
• Support senior leadership during strategic engagements with customers.
• Identify technical, commercial, contractual, execution, and cybersecurity risks.
• Maintain bid risk registers and develop mitigation strategies.
• Review project assumptions, exclusions, and dependencies.
• Assist in risk assessments and management reviews.
• Ensure that lessons learned from past projects are integrated into future bids.
• 8 to 10 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
