This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Exhibits a deep understanding of human behavior and customer biases, employing effective interviewing techniques to reveal underlying needs and guide product decisions.
• Collaborates closely with customers to ethically recruit educators, students, and parents, while being mindful of consent, privacy, and trust.
• Leverages cutting-edge AI tools to enhance research capabilities, optimize workflows, and integrate insights from various data sources.
• Works in partnership with Product teams to establish and sustain clear research agendas and roadmaps. Formulates primary research questions and objectives that align with business strategies, ensuring that research addresses significant knowledge gaps.
• Chooses suitable qualitative and quantitative research methods, designs thorough research plans, conducts high-quality studies, and maintains effective communication with cross-functional partners throughout the process.
• Utilizes expertise in human behavior and human factors to evaluate and synthesize research data, generating clear, actionable insights that directly correspond to research objectives.
• Shapes product strategy through insights derived from research, championing user-centered decisions and assisting stakeholders in recognizing the value and impact of research.
• Delivers research findings, recommendations, and solutions to senior leadership with clarity, confidence, and a strong executive presence.
• Undertakes market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities that influence product direction.
• Ensures that regulatory, compliance, and privacy considerations are integrated into user recruitment and data collection processes.
• Promotes a culture of collaboration, shared ownership, and continuous improvement across teams.
• Over 5 years of demonstrated success in leading user research projects with measurable impact.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (HCI, Psychology, Human Factors, Social Sciences, etc.) or equivalent experience; a Master’s degree is preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong proficiency in both qualitative and quantitative methods, with an understanding of when to apply each.
• Work samples showcasing experience and deliverables (e.g., research plans, reports, presentations, etc.).
• Familiarity with common research and design tools (e.g., usertesting.com, survey platforms, testing tools, repositories, Figma) along with strong organizational skills.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in product development, including UX Design, Product Management, Engineering, and Analytics.
• Excellent time management abilities and a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to work across multiple workstreams and adapt to shifting priorities.
• An ideal candidate will have experience in the EdTech or Education sectors.
• A M.S. in Human Factors, HCDE, Statistics, or Cognitive Psychology is preferred.
• Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Jira Product Discovery, Usertesting.com, Qualtrics, Google Analytics, and MixPanel.
• Experience with accessibility and inclusive design principles.
• Background in Agile software development and Continuous Discovery practices.
