This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Offer specialized guidance on the design of assessments, content creation, and evidence-based methodologies for statewide assessments, which includes summative, interim, and various other assessment types.
• Act as the main liaison for client-oriented content development needs as well as for educator committee meetings.
• Convert standards and blueprints into practical item specifications and test outlines; obtain client approvals and maintain appropriate documentation.
• Collaborate with Psychometrics on setting up blueprints, constructing tests, reviewing data, and contributing to standard setting.
• Organize item bank metadata and test maps, and oversee the assembly of forms for both paper and online assessments.
• Develop, track, and revise labor and non-salary forecasts; engage in forecast and financial reconciliation discussions.
• Lead discussions on project scopes with content development vendors; initiate Statements of Work (SOW) and manage escalations.
• Maintain and sanction schedules for content development; oversee change control and document modifications.
• Identify and document project-specific risks; create strategies for mitigation and contingency plans.
• Address item/test development challenges and direct corrective actions to uphold quality and timelines.
• Develop and implement communication strategies for consistent and transparent updates to customers.
• Facilitate client review meetings regarding milestones and deliverables; establish and monitor customer satisfaction metrics.
• Define escalation pathways and ensure prompt resolutions with clear and documented communication.
• Coordinate staffing with Content leadership; provide performance feedback and coaching to both team members and vendor partners.
• Cultivate a positive and cohesive team atmosphere and exemplify negotiation and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Utilize AI-driven tools to develop, review, and enhance assessment content while adhering to quality, accessibility, security, and privacy standards.
• Incorporate AI-generated materials into assessment workflows with necessary feedback, editorial oversight, provenance documentation, and approvals.
• Stay informed about emerging AI technologies for educational content development and assessments; offer guidance and tool suggestions.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the educational testing and assessment sector, including client-facing roles and leadership of cross-functional teams.
• Proven expertise in item and test development for statewide K–12 assessments across both paper and online formats.
• Familiarity with psychometric principles pertinent to development.
• Experience with statewide assessments; prior classroom teaching experience is valued.
• Skilled in project and financial planning.
• Strong capabilities in vendor management.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills.
• Flexibility with enterprise systems and tools.
• Willingness to travel throughout the year, with increased travel expected during summer months.
• Proven excellence in AI-supported content development within a structured and compliant workflow.
• Experience or familiarity with prompting, refining, and evaluating AI-generated content for educational assessments, including assessments of accessibility and bias.
• Openness to learning and adapting to new AI tools and methodologies.
