This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maine.
• Act as a reliable resource for prospective graduate and undergraduate students from their first inquiry through to enrollment.
• Offer tailored assistance throughout the admissions process.
• Connect applicants to essential campus resources.
• Facilitate a smooth transition into the University.
• Collaborate with the Admissions team, the Office of Student Records, Student Financial Services, Student Support Services, and the Enrollment and Advising Office.
• Foster a seamless, welcoming, and student-focused experience that promotes learner success.
• Work remotely during adverse weather conditions and/or campus emergencies.
• Engage in training and other events that may necessitate occasional travel to the University of Maine at Presque Isle.
• A Bachelor's degree is preferred; candidates with an associate's degree and relevant experience will also be considered.
• Relevant experience in admissions, tutoring, counseling, customer service, or sales may qualify with an associate's degree.
• Exceptional listening, writing, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to engage with a diverse group of prospective students with tact, diplomacy, and discretion.
• Outgoing and positive professional demeanor.
• Capability to connect with, motivate, and inspire individuals.
• Basic proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Gmail, and Zoom.
• Experience in utilizing multiple technology platforms simultaneously.
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to juggle multiple projects concurrently.
• Skill in anticipating applicant needs and guiding students through the application process.
• Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Ability to advocate for training requirements and fulfill position obligations within the onboarding timeframe.
• A stable and reliable internet connection of at least 25 Mbps; mobile hotspots are not permissible.
• A dedicated, distraction-free workspace that supports private phone and Zoom conversations while ensuring FERPA confidentiality.
• Workspace must accommodate a full workstation, including two monitors, docking stations, and any other necessary equipment.
• Capability to complete an annual Remote Work Agreement Form.
• No visa sponsorship is available.
• A cover letter and resume are mandatory.
• Professional references are required for final candidates.
