Adjunct Instructor, AWS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Available to conduct synchronous online classes via Microsoft Teams every Monday and Tuesday.

• Design and structure lessons to enhance student learning and engagement effectively.

• Adjust instructional techniques and strategies as needed to accommodate diverse student needs.

• Utilize effective teaching and learning approaches to convey subject matter to students.

• Hold current certifications in the subjects being taught.

• Exhibit comprehensive and accurate knowledge of their area of expertise.

• Relate subject matter to associated fields.

• Remain updated in their subject area through ongoing professional development, participation in professional organizations, and attendance at meetings, conferences, or workshops.

• Ensure the Student Database is consistently updated and accurate regarding attendance and grade records.

• Maintain adherence to accreditation standards related to instruction, quality of education, scheduled class hours, and CIAT policies and procedures.

• Submit required documentation, including sign-in attendance, pre-post exams, lab sheets, student snapshots, and other accreditation/state mandated documents.

• Communicate textbook, handout, supply, equipment, exam voucher, and other necessary item requirements to management with adequate notice for timely and cost-effective procurement prior to classes.

• Encourage collaboration with colleagues and take part in the execution of new projects and initiatives.

• Follow the CIAT business casual dress code, ensuring clothing is neat, clean, and free from rips and holes. CIAT polo t-shirts and pressed jeans are acceptable; however, t-shirts, caps, hooded sweatshirts, and shorts are not allowed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Information Technology Instructors must present official transcripts of a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution, along with certification in the subject being taught.

• We seek an instructor with certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Security Specialty, AWS Database, or AWS Cloud Practitioner.

• A minimum of three years of experience in the relevant field or two years of teaching experience is required.

• Preferably, candidates should have experience in synchronous online teaching.

• Advanced expertise in the subject area is preferred, along with a dedication to continuous professional development and keeping up with industry advancements.

• Strong presentation skills, along with effective communication and technological abilities.

• Proficient working knowledge of MS Office applications, including Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as learning platforms such as Canvas.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and a high degree of dependability.

• Capability to multitask effectively.

• Quick and efficient problem-solving skills.

• Ability to collaborate with colleagues, academic departments, and administration to support student success, achieve institutional objectives, and foster a positive and inclusive culture.

• Commitment to nurturing an inclusive and supportive learning environment that values the diversity of students' backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.

• Awareness of current trends, best practices, and instructional methodologies in higher education.

• Proven ability to deliver engaging and effective lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students.
