This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +4 more states.
• An adjunct faculty member engages directly with students, undertaking instructional responsibilities to support, enhance, and strengthen the learning experience.
• Interacts with students in a professional and appropriate manner.
• Creates a safe and productive learning atmosphere for students.
• Responds promptly to student inquiries regarding information, clarification of content, posts, and personal queries, and reaches out to inactive students as necessary.
• Ensures course quality by reviewing functionality and content, guaranteeing high standards in content delivery.
• Enriches the student experience by infusing course content with unique personal insights, experiences, or other professional knowledge.
• Monitors and provides relevant feedback on student assignments in accordance with college policies.
• Compiles and reports student performance data in a timely fashion.
• Upholds the policies, procedures, and guidelines of the program and institution.
• Assists students in understanding ethical conduct, especially regarding plagiarism and copyright infringement; adheres to proper procedures in reporting violations.
• Collaborates effectively with colleagues and college leadership, including participation in required meetings.
• Offers appropriate leadership within one’s individual area of influence.
• Possession of a terminal degree in a field relevant to the department (ESL/BL, Early Childhood Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Literacy, Special Education).
• A minimum of 3 peer-reviewed professional publications and presentations (Doctoral Teaching & Learning) is required.
• At least 1 year of teaching experience in a formal educational environment utilizing both traditional and non-traditional teaching methods, with a preference for higher education experience.
• Proven experience in successfully cultivating online and virtual professional relationships.
• Demonstrated evidence of professional research and/or creative contributions and expertise in the field.
