
Adjunct Faculty – Enlisted College Distance Education Program

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Collaborate with Regional Chief Instructors to implement instruction utilizing approved CDET curricula, faculty guides, and Learning Management System (LMS) resources.
• Facilitate Socratic-style seminars in various learning environments including classroom, synchronous online, and asynchronous online formats.
• Lead discussions on professional military education that foster critical thinking, leadership growth, and professional development.
• Mentor Marines throughout the program, offering academic and professional support.
• Evaluate seminar participation, written assignments, essays, and other course requirements in accordance with approved CDET grading standards and rubrics.
• Provide prompt and constructive feedback to enhance student learning and development.
• Maintain precise grading records, course documentation, and student performance metrics.
• Assist in student enrollment and engagement within approved learning management systems.
• Fulfill necessary faculty orientation and ongoing faculty development obligations.
• Engage in faculty meetings, training events, and professional development initiatives as mandated.
• Attend annual faculty development workshops and other training sessions as instructed.
• Ensure adherence to Marine Corps University academic standards, academic integrity requirements, and contractual obligations.
• Served as a Staff Sergeant (E-6) or higher in the United States Marine Corps.
• Completed Professional Military Education (PME) requisite for rank or grade.
• Proven leadership and mentoring background.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Capability to facilitate adult education and professional discussions.
• Ability to work autonomously and efficiently in a distributed learning context.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (preferred).
• Graduate of a Marine Corps University or CDET Professional Military Education seminar program (preferred).
• Experience with Socratic teaching methodologies (preferred).
• Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS), such as Moodle (preferred).
• Previous experience in teaching, instructing, facilitating, mentoring, or faculty roles (preferred).
• Background supporting military education or leadership development programs (preferred).
• Previous experience delivering instruction in residential, synchronous online, or asynchronous online settings (preferred).
