This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee doctoral (EdD) candidates in the development and execution of a significant individual research project.
• Collaborate closely with candidates to foster topic development and design suitable methodologies.
• Obtain approval from the Institutional Review Board (IRB).
• Gather and analyze research data.
• Present the final work to both the university and a chosen professional outlet for publication.
• Lead a Dissertation Committee consisting of 4-5 members.
• Ensure that committee members provide timely reviews and feedback on candidate progress.
• Doctoral degree (e.g., PhD, EdD, PsyD) in sport and performance psychology, clinical mental health counseling, sport science, health science, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in completed research.
• Active membership and involvement in relevant state, regional, and national professional organizations related to SPP.
• Proven track record of publication, presentation, and ongoing education in sport and performance psychology and/or clinical counseling.
• Competence in using data analysis software (qualitative and/or quantitative).
• Ability to manage personal schedules independently.
• Skilled in document/report creation that complies with institutional editorial standards.
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills necessary (MS Office Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat Professional).
• Familiarity with video conferencing systems.
• Basic understanding and experience with Canvas (or a similar) learning management system.
• Strong professional interpersonal skills, including effective verbal and written communication.
• Efficient management of faculty and students within professional degree programs.
• Proven dedication to collegiality and shared governance.
• Excellent organizational abilities and capacity to prioritize and manage resources to achieve desired teaching outcomes.
• Capability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
• Ability to exercise professional judgment and take responsibility in clinical decision-making.
• Quick adaptability to changing environments and new systems and processes.
• Willingness and ability to follow directives from the director, dean, and administrators in accordance with university policies.
• Understanding of FERPA regulations regarding student privacy.
