Adjunct Faculty – Command and Staff College Distance Education Program

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Regional Chief Instructors to implement instruction aligned with the CSCDEP curriculum.

• Conduct graduate-level seminar discussions utilizing Socratic teaching techniques and adult learning principles.

• Guide seminar groups comprised of approximately 12 to 16 students.

• Provide mentorship to students, offering academic and professional support throughout the program.

• Assess seminar participation, written assignments, research papers, and other course requirements according to program standards.

• Deliver timely and constructive feedback to enhance student development and learning goals.

• Cultivate a professional learning atmosphere that encourages critical thinking, analysis, and intellectual conversations.

• Keep precise grading records, course documentation, and student performance metrics.

• Engage in faculty meetings, training events, and professional development activities as necessary.

• Successfully fulfill all required CDET faculty development and certification obligations.

• Ensure adherence to Marine Corps University academic standards and contractual obligations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Field Grade Officer (Major, Lieutenant Commander, equivalent rank, or higher) or civilian graduate of Intermediate Level School (ILS), Staff Academy Workshop (SAW), Tactical Level School (TLS), or a comparable professional military education program.

• Proven capability to facilitate graduate-level discussions and mentor adult learners.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Capacity to work independently and efficiently in a distributed learning setting.
