Active Directory, Identity Migration Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Oversee the transition of several Active Directory forests into a modern enterprise identity framework.

• Design and implement secure solutions for identity migration in accordance with security and architectural standards.

• Manage the synchronization of users, groups, and identities utilizing Microsoft Entra ID Connect Cloud and Entra Connect Sync.

• Ensure that legacy credentials and passwords are not reusable in the new environment.

• Evaluate application authentication methods (Kerberos, SAML, OIDC, Forms Authentication, etc.) and establish suitable migration strategies.

• Assist in application and server migration efforts in partnership with infrastructure, cloud, and application teams.

• Resolve complex identity, authentication, and synchronization challenges during migration phases.

• Conduct security reviews and ensure compliance with Active Directory and identity management best practices.

• Collaborate closely with stakeholders to document dependencies, migration needs, and implementation strategies.

• Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and Agile delivery initiatives.

• Offer technical support and mentorship to project teams and operational personnel.

• Promote the adoption of cloud-first solutions and Microsoft Azure services wherever applicable.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in Active Directory administration, engineering, and migration projects.

• Extensive knowledge of Active Directory architecture, security, and identity management.

• Demonstrated experience in delivering large-scale AD, Azure AD, or Entra ID migration initiatives.

• Practical experience with Microsoft Entra ID Connect Cloud and Entra Connect Sync.

• Strong comprehension of authentication and federation technologies, including Kerberos, SAML, OAuth, and OIDC.

• Experience with strategies for application identity integration and migration.

• Solid understanding of Microsoft Azure and cloud identity services.

• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

• Experience in Agile/DevOps environments.

• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.

• Proficiency in English.
