ACT Instructor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana.

📋 Description

• Conduct live, virtual ACT preparation sessions via Zoom for groups of 10–25 students.

• Instruct on ACT English, Math, Reading, and Science subjects along with test-taking strategies.

• Utilize Studyville's supplied ACT resources, curriculum, materials, and sample/practice tests; independent lesson planning is not necessary.

• Analyze pretest results to focus instructional priorities.

• Modify pacing and strategies to address cohort target scores and specific needs.

• Administer the post-test during the concluding session.

• Adhere to the provided ACT scope and sequence.

• Monitor attendance and daily student progress, including scores from practice tests.

• Record any participation and engagement issues and relay them to the ACT Program Coordinator.

• Cultivate student confidence, ownership, and academic leadership.

• Report student progress and score trends to students, families, and/or school staff as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Achieve a personal ACT composite score of 33 or higher within the last 12 months, with an official score report available for confirmation.

• Exhibit comfort and confidence in teaching ACT content and test-taking strategies in a live virtual format.

• Proven track record of effectively helping students improve their scores significantly.

• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and fingerprinting as mandated by Louisiana state law.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Reliable access to a computer or device equipped with a functioning camera and microphone.

• Stable high-speed internet connection.

• Previous experience in tutoring, teaching, or coaching students in ACT or other test preparation (preferred).

• Prior experience in a live virtual/online teaching environment (preferred).

• Current teaching certification (preferred).

• In-depth, up-to-date knowledge of ACT content, format, and pacing.

• Strong skills in instructional methods and test-taking strategies.

• Dependable, punctual, and professional demeanor.

• Ability to inspire students working towards a specific score target.

• Clear and effective communication with students, families, and staff.

• Comfortable engaging and managing a full class of students in a virtual setting.

• Access to a quiet, distraction-free environment for the entire duration of each live session.

• Proficient in using the Zoom platform.
