Acquiring Fraud Investigator, 2nd LoD

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Identify and evaluate risks within the Fraud Risk Management department.

• Design, oversee, and assess the efficiency of fraud controls.

• Concentrate on identifying fraud risks such as merchant abuse, friendly fraud, chargebacks, and compliance risks related to card schemes.

• Develop and continually enhance Finom’s fraud risk framework.

• Ensure that fraud rates stay within the risk appetite while maintaining growth and enhancing customer experience.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2–4+ years of experience in fraud risk, acquiring fraud, card fraud, or payments risk in a fintech, PSP, or regulated financial institution.

• Proven experience in fraud prevention, detection, investigations, and mitigation within the financial sector (Banking, PSP, FinTech).

• Strong understanding of card fraud typologies, card scheme regulations, and chargeback mechanics.

• Knowledge of the payments ecosystem, including both issuing and acquiring.

• Experience with fraud rules, scenarios, or ML-driven controls, preferably across the end-to-end lifecycle.

• Capability to analyze large datasets; familiarity with SQL and/or BI tools is a significant advantage.

• Excellent analytical and critical-thinking capabilities.

• Detail-oriented, proactive, and adept at thriving in a rapidly scaling environment.

• Ability to balance risk mitigation with business facilitation.

• Approaches challenges as a risk partner rather than a blocker.

• Comfortable questioning assumptions and suggesting practical solutions.

• Can articulate complex fraud risks in a straightforward, business-friendly manner.

• Effectively communicates with stakeholders across product, technology, and operations.
