Accounts Receivable Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Collect cash for outstanding Accounts Receivable while consistently following up with customers until payment is resolved.

• Investigate Accounts Receivable issues, reconcile payment remittances, and swiftly address billing or account discrepancies.

• Reduce bad debt write-offs and enhance cash receipts while upholding a professional, customer-oriented approach with both internal and external clients.

• Comply with Accounts Receivable strategies and execute tasks such as on-account cash handling, escalations, credit reviews, and related responsibilities within established SLAs.

• Facilitate and lead conference calls to address overdue issues and communicate efficiently with customer Accounts Payable supervisors, managers, and directors.

• Conduct root cause analysis on customer issues and pinpoint potential opportunities for process enhancements.

• Negotiate significantly overdue balances through payment plans or settlement options when applicable.

• Summarize and present findings from account reconciliations to customers and internal Staples teams, including Sales, Customer Setup, and Contract Gateway teams.

• Offer internal and external customers ad hoc reporting, statements, and account information as necessary.

• Raise issues or concerns to the Team Lead when further assistance or resolution is required.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2+ years of pertinent experience in accounts receivable, billing, general accounting support, customer service, or a related business function.

• 1+ year of experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

• 1+ year of experience with data entry or processing in financial or enterprise systems such as SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar platforms.
