Accounts Payable Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.

📋 Description

• Accurately and promptly complete state surplus lines tax filings, reports, and payments.

• Reconcile client invoices, billing reports, and associated financial records.

• Investigate and resolve issues related to client credits, refunds, and payment discrepancies.

• Ensure accurate documentation and records pertaining to tax filings and accounting transactions are maintained.

• Assist in the enhancement and upkeep of accounting processes and standard operating procedures.

• Offer customer service and support to clients, state agencies, and internal teams regarding inquiries related to filing and payments.

• Keep an updated understanding of state surplus lines laws, tax filing requirements, and compliance regulations.

• Aid in reporting and reconciliation tasks to guarantee data accuracy and completeness.

• Handle multiple priorities while maintaining a high degree of accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

• Expected to perform additional duties as assigned, directed, or requested.

⛳️ Requirements

• An associate degree in accounting or equivalent experience is preferred.

• Prior experience in the surplus lines or insurance industry is preferred.

• Familiarity with general accounting principles and practices is essential.

• Understanding of confidentiality obligations related to financial information is required.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and Adobe applications is necessary.

• Experience with NetSuite or similar accounting software is preferred.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy is crucial.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities are needed.

• Capacity to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a high-volume setting is vital.

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills are necessary.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team is essential.
