This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• Oversee the entire accounting cycle, encompassing transaction processing through to financial reporting.
• Ensure general ledger accounts are accurate and maintain up-to-date financial records.
• Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.
• Perform reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, loans, and balance sheets.
• Prepare and submit BAS (Business Activity Statements) and IAS (Instalment Activity Statements).
• Compile and reconcile GST reports in compliance with Australian tax regulations.
• Handle payroll processing, including leave entitlements, PAYG withholding, superannuation, and adherence to Single Touch Payroll (STP) requirements.
• Generate monthly management reports, which include Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow reports.
• Execute month-end and year-end closing procedures, covering journals, accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and reconciliations.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and conducting financial analysis.
• Prepare workpapers and necessary documentation for external accountants and tax agents.
• Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards, tax obligations, and internal controls.
• Spot discrepancies, examine variances, and propose process enhancements.
• Engage professionally with clients, accountants, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
• Provide support for ad hoc accounting, finance, and administrative projects as needed.
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience in Australia, either within a firm or supporting Australian businesses.
• Proven ability to manage the complete accounting cycle effectively.
• Strong grasp of Australian accounting principles, GST, BAS, IAS, payroll, PAYG, superannuation, and STP compliance.
• Advanced proficiency in Xero (preferred), with capabilities in MYOB and/or QuickBooks Online.
• Experience in preparing financial statements and month/year-end reports.
• Competence in analyzing financial data and independently resolving discrepancies.
• Exceptional attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.
• Capable of working independently while managing multiple priorities.
• Available to work during Australian business hours (AEST).
