This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• Oversee and direct the workflow of both Senior and Junior Accountants under your supervision, assigning tasks and tracking capacity, deadlines, and service quality.
• Examine SMSF returns, financial statements, and workpapers prepared by Senior and Junior Accountants, providing sign-off within your authority.
• Offer daily technical assistance to your team and address any queries; escalate complex issues to the Manager of Accounting for resolution and final approval.
• Guide, train, and enhance the skills of Junior and Senior staff, fostering technical expertise throughout the team.
• Utilize and disseminate a comprehensive, expert understanding of Class Super across the entire fund lifecycle.
• Employ a detailed knowledge of property investments within SMSFs, encompassing Limited Recourse Borrowing Arrangements (LRBAs) and associated compliance, structuring, and reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with external auditors, addressing and resolving audit-related queries and challenges.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including Financial Advisors, regarding client SMSF strategies.
• Report to the Manager of Accounting concerning team workflow, capacity, job progress, and technical matters.
• Participate in the continuous improvement of systems and processes within the SMSF team.
• Assist client services with client inquiries and, when necessary, communicate directly with clients.
• A degree or higher qualification in accounting.
• CA or CPA qualified (or nearing completion).
• Over 5 years of experience in SMSF returns, including expertise in LRBA structures and SMSF property investments.
• Proven experience in reviewing SMSF returns and workpapers, alongside managing or mentoring accounting personnel.
• Strong, demonstrated working knowledge of Class Super (essential and non-negotiable).
• Experience with BGL Simple Fund 360 is highly valued.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office/Windows suite, XPM (or similar practice management software), and CAS.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote, offshore environment with excellent time management skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
