Accounting Services Associate IV – RTR, Japanese

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia.

📋 Description

• Manage the Record to Report process for the Japan region, ensuring both efficiency and accuracy in transactions.

• Process entries for bank transactions, which include bank interest and bank charges.

• Conduct daily cash flow budgeting activities.

• Maintain exchange rates and execute revaluation processes.

• Compile closing reports, including ageing, bank reconciliation, intercompany reconciliation, inventory, incentive, forex revaluation, and VAT reports.

• Develop fixed asset registers and record fixed asset transactions.

• Prepare and enter general accounting journal entries, covering payroll, banking, inventory, withholding tax, accruals, deferrals, and prepayments.

• Reconcile accounts related to the general ledger, bank, prepaid expenses, taxes, and fixed assets.

• Maintain master data for General Ledger accounts.

• Execute month-end closing processes, open periods, and carry forward year-end balances.

• Generate monthly financial statements.

• Collaborate with other departments to address and resolve issues.

• Update desktop procedures as necessary.

• Lead efforts in customer billing and collections while resolving complex issues.

• Provide backup support for junior team members and mentor them on inquiries.

• Understand entity processes and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

• Assist with audit activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting with relevant experience in Record to Report.

• Exposure to multinational shared services, ideally in Asia Pacific regions.

• Proficiency in Japanese is required for client interactions in Japan.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Japanese; JLPT N2 or higher.

• Proficiency in Mandarin is a plus.

• Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, formula linking, XLOOKUP, and VLOOKUP.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.

• Ability to meet tight deadlines while delivering high-quality output.

• Experience with SAP is an added benefit.

• Responsible, tactful, self-motivated, and eager to learn.

• Capability to work under pressure during month-end closing and provide ad-hoc support.
