This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia.
• Accurately process bank transaction entries, including bank interest and charges.
• Conduct daily cash flow budgeting activities.
• Maintain exchange rates and perform revaluations.
• Compile closing reports, which encompass ageing reports, bank reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, inventory reports, incentive reports, forex revaluations, VAT reports, and more.
• Prepare and manage the fixed assets register and related postings.
• Execute the preparation and posting of various general accounting journal entries, which include payroll-related entries, banking journals, month-end inventory journals, withholding tax entries, accruals or deferrals, and various expense prepayments based on the company's financial data for the relevant period.
• Generate reconciliations for various general ledger accounts, including bank accounts, prepaid expense accounts, tax accounts, fixed asset accounts, and others, ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and validity of all information in the general ledger.
• Maintain master data for General Ledger Accounts.
• Conduct month-end closings and open periods.
• Carry forward balances at year-end.
• Prepare monthly financial statements.
• Collaborate with other departments to address and resolve issues.
• Regularly update desktop procedures as needed.
• Ensure satisfaction across sectors.
• Lead customer billing and collection efforts while resolving complex issues.
• Provide backup support for junior staff and assist with their inquiries through coaching and guidance.
• Understand entity processes and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
• Assist with audit activities.
• Diploma or degree in Accounting with relevant RTR experience.
• Proficiency in Japanese is essential for serving clients in Japan.
• Strong communication skills in both written and spoken English and Japanese (JLPT N2 / N1).
• Proficiency in Mandarin is an added advantage.
• Advanced computer skills, particularly in Excel (including Pivot Tables, formula linking, Xlookup, Vlookup) and Word.
• Ability to meet strict deadlines while delivering quality output.
• Experience with the SAP system is a plus.
• Responsible, tactful, self-motivated personality with a willingness to learn.
• Capable of working under pressure during month-end closings and providing ad-hoc support as needed.
• Preferable exposure to MNC shared services, especially within Asia Pacific countries.
