Accounting Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Oversee daily accounting functions, which include accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, revenue recognition, expenses, and tax-related activities.

• Handle the month-end closing process for our Canadian and U.S. operations, ensuring the timely preparation of consolidated financial statements that comply with US GAAP, along with other month-end tasks such as reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and conducting detailed plan-to-actual variance analyses.

• Manage year-end financial closing procedures for our subsidiaries, including the preparation of annual financial statements and collaboration with external tax consultants.

• Support the Director of Accounting - Controller in drafting financial statement note disclosures in line with US GAAP.

• Conduct research to formulate and implement company-wide accounting policies and procedures.

• Ensure adherence to compliance standards for financial and accounting activities.

• Provide training, mentorship, and performance evaluations to team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• CPA designation is mandatory.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required.

• A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience, preferably a mix of public accounting and industry experience.

• In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting standards.

• Familiarity with Netsuite is a plus.

• Experience managing U.S. indirect tax compliance, including sales and use tax, SaaS taxation, economic nexus, multi-state registrations, and liaising with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with changing state regulations.
