This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead Accounts Payable (AP) and Travel & Expense (T&E) operations, ensuring accuracy in expenses and timely accruals.
• Supervise an efficient, timely, and precise month-end closing process.
• Uphold robust internal controls and accounting policies.
• Enhance accounting processes; ensure compliance with GAAP, including intricate areas such as accruals, leases, and investments.
• Mentor, coach, and develop a high-performing accounting team, nurturing a culture of collaboration, ownership, and accountability.
• Recruit, onboard, and cultivate talent to adapt to the evolving needs of the business.
• Manage Procure-to-Pay and T&E systems; assess, implement, and optimize systems to enhance automation and efficiency.
• Utilize AI to enhance close accuracy — identifying issues promptly, deepening flux and variance analysis, and developing checklists and control documentation that elevates standards.
• Collaborate closely with Corporate Finance, Strategic Finance, Legal, Engineering, and other teams to support strategic initiatives, operational scaling, and high-quality financial insights.
• Offer accounting guidance to business partners to aid in informed decision-making.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Over 6 years of progressive experience in accounting/finance, including more than 2 years at a Big 4 firm.
• Experience in leading AP, T&E, and/or accounting operations.
• Proficient in ERP systems (NetSuite preferred), along with experience in complementary finance tools such as Numeric, Zip, Brex, treasury platforms, and AI-driven process tools.
• Extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including consolidations, leases (ASC 842), fair value investments, accruals, and foreign currency accounting.
• Hands-on, proactive approach with the capability to delve into details, operate with an independent contributor mindset when necessary, and maintain a strong positive attitude.
• Proven ability to drive change, enhance processes, implement systems, and scale operations.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with a growth-oriented mindset.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, capable of collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
