Accounting Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Oversee the processes for month-end and year-end financial closures.

• Prepare and assess journal entries pertaining to assets, liabilities, revenue, and expenses.

• Guarantee the accuracy and completeness of financial statements.

• Guide and assist accounting personnel.

• Establish team expectations and foster accountability, growth, and ownership.

• Act as a resource for intricate accounting inquiries and decisions.

• Uphold the integrity of the general ledger, reconciliations, and subsidiary ledgers.

• Proactively identify and resolve discrepancies.

• Ensure adherence to accounting principles, internal policies, and audit requirements.

• Work in collaboration with finance leadership and operations teams.

• Assist external auditors and tax partners with well-organized documentation.

• Convert financial data into actionable business insights.

• Optimize workflows and minimize manual effort.

• Establish quicker, clearer, and more dependable reporting procedures.

• Advance accounting practices for a growing, technology-focused organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Over 5 years of accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory roles.

• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.

• CPA certification is strongly preferred.

• Experience with enterprise accounting systems; familiarity with Workday is a plus.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

• Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.

• Capability to lead efforts and collaborate effectively across teams.

• Experience in enhancing accounting workflows through automation or AI-enabled tools is a plus.

• Familiarity with integrated financial and operational reporting in digital or service-oriented organizations is a plus.

• Exposure to ERP optimization or system implementations is a plus.

• Experience in supporting private equity-backed or high-growth settings is a plus.

• Comfort with data visualization or reporting tools in conjunction with finance systems is a plus.
